Iame Series Benelux Round 2

A Weekend of Battles for Bera Akbaba

The second round of the IAME Series Benelux brought the Mini Rookie drivers to the fast and technical Ostricourt circuit in France. With nearly 20 drivers on the grid and extremely close lap times, it was another weekend of hard racing for Musab Bera Akbaba, who showed determination and fighting spirit against some of the strongest young drivers in Europe.

Qualifying – Tight Gaps

Bera set a time of 1:06.843, placing him P11 on the grid. The times were incredibly close — just a few tenths separating the top 10 — which meant every position had to be earned the hard way in the heats.

Heat 1 – A Confident Start

In the opening heat, Bera drove a clean and consistent race. He avoided trouble in the opening laps and kept his rhythm against tough competition. By the finish, he secured a strong P6 result (gained 5 places), proving he had the pace to fight in the midfield pack.

Heat 2 – Intense Midfield Battles

Heat 2 saw Bera starting in the middle of heavy traffic. The racing was fierce, with constant overtakes and close fights across the field. Despite the chaos, he managed to bring his kart home safely in P11, keeping himself in contention for a solid grid spot in the final.

The Final – Pushing to the End

In the 12-lap final, Bera lined up against the fastest Mini Rookie drivers in the region. The opening laps were tough, but he showed determination and consistency to move forward. After a hard-fought race, Bera crossed the line in P8, securing valuable championship points.

The focus now turns to the upcoming rounds, where the goal will be to qualify higher up the grid and fight consistently inside the top 5.
